Both having lost their first match to India, Hong Kong and Pakistan went against each other in a do-or-die clash on Friday. Pakistan came up as the eventual winner and what a victory it was.

After winning the toss, Hong Kong decided to bowl first and asked Pakistan to set up a target. The minnows would have thought of clinching this match after captain Babar Azam got cheaply out again at just nine runs. Other batters, however, not just held the innings together but smacked Hong Kong bowlers all around to set up a huge target on the board.

Mohammad Rizwan, who played a good inning against India, was again the hero as he hit 78 runs in just 57 balls and remained not out. Number three batter, Fakhar Zaman played a great Robin to Rizwan's and came up with a half-century (53) knock of his own. In the end, Khushdil Shah ended Pakistan's innings with a flurry of boundaries as the Men in Green produced 193/2 on the board.

Coming on to chase what looked like a huge total, Hong Kong batters could not give a good start to their team as the first wicket fell at just 16 runs. From then on, it was just a matter of formality as they kept losing wickets after every five runs. Shadab Khan ran through Hong Kong's defense and took four wickets in just 2.4 overs. Mohammad Rizwan with a three-wicket haul of his own also inflicted massive pain on the Hong Kong team.

In the end, Hong Kong were able to only score 38 after losing all of their wickets. They lost the match by a massive 155 runs in the last match of the Group stage in Asia Cup 2022. Mohammad Rizwan was adjudged the Player of the Match for his immense performance with the bat and ball.
