'Sawaal hi sawaal hai par jawab koi nahi hai' - Fans react to India's constantly changing Playing XI ahead of ODI World Cup 2023

India and West Indies are locking horns with each other in the series decider with both Virat Kohli as well as Rohit Sharma rested for the match. The opening pair remained the same with Ishan Kishan (77) as well as Shubman Gill (85) opening the innings and providing the Indian team with a flying start. The duo stitched together a partnership of 142 runs for the first innings before the southpaw fell to the leg-spin of Yannic Cariah.

After the first wicket fell, it was Ruturaj Gaikwad who stepped into bat at number three, which is also the third number three batter that the Indian team has used in the series. In the first One Day International (ODI) it was Suryakumar Yadav who walked in at number three, while in the second ODI, it was Sanju Samson who batted at number three spot. Similarly, after Gaikwad fell to Alzarri Joseph, it was Sanju Samson who walked in at number four, which was also different from the first two ODIs.

In the first ODI, it was Hardik Pandya who came into bat at number four, while in the second ODI, it was Axar Patel who came into bat. These changes clearly show that the team management, as well as the skipper Rohit Sharma, is looking to try out all the permutations and combinations before the upcoming Asia Cup as well as ODI World Cup 2023. In fact, after the second ODI, where India lost to West Indies by six wickets, the head coach of the Indian team, Rahul Dravid came up with the justification for these alternations.

Speaking after the match, Dravid made it very clear that the team management is looking at this series as an opportunity to try out all the possible combinations as well as test their bench strengths just in case the injured players do not make it till the World Cup. The likes of Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are still uncertain about their comeback, however, India’s premier fast bowler will be making a comeback in the upcoming Ireland series which is scheduled to be played in mid-August.

Let us look at how Twitter has reacted to these chopping and changing by the Indian team;
