'Sealed the deal'- Twitter ecstatic as India defeat West Indies in the USA to win T20I Series

India and West Indies ventured into the land of the Americans for the fourth T20I. Winning the toss, West Indies decided to bowl first. Indian openers Rohit Sharma (33) and Suryakumar Yadav (24) got off to a good start taking the team score to 53 before the first wicket fell.

Deepak Hooda could not remodel his past performance and played at just 110 strike rate and made 21 runs before he was dismissed by Alzarri Joseph. Rishabh Pant however was at his best and scored 44 runs off of 31 with six boundaries in what was a very responsible inning from the southpaw. Sanju Samson who was back into the playing XI in place of Shreyas Iyer made an important 30 runs off of 23 balls and remained unbeaten. India’s finisher-in-chief, Dinesh Karthik had an off day today and could only contribute six runs. It was again Axar Patel who made an unbeaten 20 off of just eight balls to take the Indian scoreboard to a massive 191 runs.

Coming on to chase with the openers Brandon King (13) and Kyle Mayers (14), West Indies got to a good start. West Indies however lost frequent wickets to lose the match by 59 runs. Devon Thomas made just one run to leave the West Indies side in limbo.

India secures a winning lead in the series with a score line of 3-1

Captain Nicholas Pooran tried his best to hold the fort but a quality fielding of Pant and Iyer took him out of the game with a runout. Rovman Powell with 24 off of 16 continued the same story of West Indies players throwing their wickets after a decent start.

Shimron Hetmyer failed again when his team needed the most and contributed just 19 runs to the West Indies scoreboard. Jason Holder (13), Akeal Hosein (3), Dominic Drakes (5) and Obed McCoy (2) were removed cheaply by quality Indian bowling. Alzarri Joseph remained unbeaten on 6 runs.
