Pakistan Cricket Board was threatening India to withdraw from the World Cup as the Indian Cricket Board refused to send their players to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. But they have now laid down their arms and made it clear to the apex cricket body that they are ready to tour India for the grand tournament. The ODI World Cup is to be played in October this year and will be hosted by India.

Earlier, Pakistan had said that it will not go to India and it can withdraw from this tournament. Pakistan had started saying this after the statement of the Indian Cricket Board Secretary Jay Shah, who clearly said that the Indian team will not go to Pakistan for the Asia Cup. If the Asia Cup is held at a neutral venue, then only the Indian team will play in the tournament.

Will Pakistan change their venue again?

According to Pakistani media, the Pakistan team will visit India for the World Cup, but before that Pakistan will send a security team to India. They will check the places where World Cup matches will be played and they will ensure the safety of Pakistani players. During the 2016 20-20 World Cup, Pakistan's security team requested to change the venue of the India-Pakistan match, after which the match was shifted to Kolkata. A Pakistani journalist informed this on his official Twitter account.

โ€œPakistan will send its security team to India to check the venues for the World Cup, and to ensure safety of Pakistan players. In 2016, Pakistan's security team requested the cricket governing body to change Dharamsala and India vs Pakistan was shifted to Kolkata in the T20 WC,โ€ he wrote.

Meanwhile, talking about the tournament, the World Cup will feature 10 teams playing a total of 48 matches. Each participating team will play nine league games, with India, England, Australia, New Zealand, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and South Africa already having qualified. The final two teams will be decided via a qualifying tournament in Zimbabwe in June and July. This tournament will feature former champions like West Indies and Sri Lanka, as well as the Netherlands, Ireland, Nepal, Oman, Scotland, the United Arab Emirates, and hosts Zimbabwe.
