Bumrah will have to bowl better lengths in the forthcoming Test series against England: Saba Karim
Mohammed Shami was the pick of the bowlers in the first innings. The senior Indian pacer picked four wickets and gave away 76 runs. However, the biggest surprise was Jasprit Bumrah, who went wicketless in both innings – 0/57 and 0/35. Considering his form, retired India wicketkeeper Saba Karim feels that Jasprit Bumrah could have been kept away from the match. However, the selectors decided to pick him based on what he is has achieved for India.
Jasprit Bumrah did feature in the home Test series against England. He was also part of the playing XI for the opening Test in Chennai, where he picked up four wickets. The pacer also featured in the third Test in Ahmedabad, where he didn't get to bowl much. He went wicket-less before taking a break for his wedding with Sanjana Ganesan. Saba Karim felt Jasprit Bumrah was getting back to his rhythm during New Zealand's second innings of the WTC final. The former Indian selector stated that the fast bowler would have to bowl better lengths in the forthcoming Test series against England. Karim reckoned that Bumrah should not repeat his mistakes from the ICC WTC final.
