'Self trolling' - KL Rahul invites massive trolling after tweet praising Lucknow post Gujarat drubbing

Post the match against Gujarat, KL Rahul took it to Twitter to assure his fans that the team had fought for a win. This did not go down well.

The two new teams Lucknow and Gujarat team fought out in their first game of the ITL on Monday. While there were some good performances by Lucknow, Gujarat stole the show as they won the match. They were a lot better than Lucknow as most of their players played well, and with consistency throughout the match.

KL Rahul, the Lucknow Captain, was dismissed for a first-ball duck. He was caught behind on Mohammed Shami's delivery. Rahul had no reply to Shami's stunner.

Post the match, he took it to Twitter to praise his team for their fighting spirit. "This one felt like a win because of the way we fought. Proud," he wrote in the tweet.

This, however, did not go well with the fans, who went on to troll Rahul for covering up the loss. They were of the opinion that this should not have felt like a win as they were below par in the match. Many others made this as a meme template. "Felt like an IITian, because of the way I gave IIT-JEE once upon a time. Proud," a fan hilariously wrote.

Many also pointed out that this was a mentality of a Bangalore player. "You can take a man out of RCB. But you can't take RCB out of the man," a fan wrote.
