On 25 December 2022, team India completed the clean sweep over the Bangla Tigers by winning the second Test in Mirpur. Ravichandran Ashwin and Shreyas Iyer put up a solid partnership of 71* runs to ensure the victory of the Men in Blue. However, Virat Kohli had a disappointing second Test match.
He failed with the bat as he scored just 25 runs in two innings. On day three, he even dropped four catches on the field. However, among those chances, Virat also claimed a catch which eventually turned out to be a not-out as the ball bumped. Regarding that, a renowned journalist from Sri Lanka, Daniel Alexandar came up with a tweet that read Virat Kohli should get banned for claiming that catch.
Here is the shared video:
India's Kohli claiming a catch which he knew he hadn't taken is a serious offence in cricket (Over 51.6, 2nd Inns). Many Non-Indian cricketers were banned by @ICC for claiming a bump ball under 'conduct contrary to the spirit of the game'. Pant & Ashwin got away in recent past.💰

Virat Kohli had a forgettable Test series against Bangladesh
Speaking of the tweet, it reads: “India's Kohli claiming a catch which he knew he hadn't taken is a serious offence in cricket (Over 51.6, 2nd Inns). Many Non-Indian cricketers were banned by @ICC for claiming a bump ball under 'conduct contrary to the spirit of the game'. Pant & Ashwin got away in recent past.”
Speaking of that incident, it took place during the 52nd over of Bangladesh’s second innings. Axar Patel was bowling while Nurul Hasan was batting. On the last delivery of that over, the batter managed an edge and the ball went to Virat Kohli. Kohli was going low to his right and thought it was a fair catch. However, the decision went to the upstairs and the soft-signal was not out. In replays, it became clear that the ball bumped and Kohli took it on the bounce only.
Virat Kohli came to this series after scoring his 72nd international hundred in the last and third match of the ODI series. So, fans were expecting a good show in the longest format of the game also. But, Kohli had a forgettable series as he scored only 45 runs in four innings, at an average of 15.
