Team India are currently busy playing the first game of the ongoing two-match Test series in Bangladesh. Ahead of this series, Rohit Sharma got injured and missed this Test match. Hence, KL Rahul became the skipper for this match. However, fans were not happy when the Indian Cricket Board made that announcement.

Speaking of the match, KL Rahul won the toss and opted to bat first. For India, KL Rahul and Shubman Gill came out to open the innings. Rahul has been failing to score big runs for the Men in Blue since his return from the injury in 2022. First, he failed to score in the Zimbabwe and West Indies ODI series. Then, his bad run of form continued in the Asia Cup and the 20-20 World Cup also.

So, fans were hoping for a better show with the bat from KL Rahul. In the first innings, team India scored 404 runs in 133.5 overs. But, Rahul scored only 22 runs off 54 balls, including three fours. Both Cheteshwar Pujara and Shreyas Iyer scored 90 and 86 runs respectively. In reply, Bangladesh batters failed miserably as they got bundled out for 150 runs in 55.5 overs. Kuldeep Yadav and Mohammed Siraj took five and three wickets respectively.

Meanwhile, Rahul had the chance to enforce the follow-on on the Bangla Tigers. But, he decided to bat again. But, he disappointed his fan once again when KL Rahul got out for 23 runs off 62 balls in the second innings. Fans were not happy as it was a great opportunity for him to get back into his groove. However, his opening partner, Shubman Gill managed to score a fifty as India reached 100 runs in 29 overs. Thus, India’s lead went up to 354 runs on day three of this Test match.
