The second ODI between Pakistan and West Indies saw a fan intrude the pitch to meet Shadab Khan. The all-rounder was gracious enough to fulfil the desire of the intruder as he hugged him before he walked off the field.
A spectator obstructed play and sprinted towards Shadab Khan to salute him, interrupting Anderson Phillip's run-up to bowl the fourth delivery of the 39th over. Shadab, who was on strike, responded with a hug to the fan, generating applause from the audience. The video of the same went viral all across the internet.
However, after receiving the love from the cricketer, things went south for the fan. Multan Police have filed an FIR against Muhammad Waqas Ashraf, the fan who raced on the pitch during the second ODI at Multan Cricket Stadium.

In the meantime, former West Indies cricketer Ian Bishop was impressed with Shadab's gesture towards the fan. He said that instead of being nasty to the fan, the all-rounder made his day. "Great moment just now when a spectator ran onto the field. Instead of being violent with him (because it could have been dangerous, plus COVID), Shadab Khan hugged him and sent him on his way. #Beautiful. P:S, I understand all the reasons why that is frowned upon," he tweeted.
After losing an early wicket in the match, Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq added up a crucial 120-run partnership to get Pakistan back into the game. Each got a half-century in the game, but the bowlers came back strong to take wickets, limiting the hosts to 275. The West Indies were unable to maintain any big partnerships during the chase. Pakistan eventually won by 120 runs after taking wickets at regular intervals.
With this win, Pakistan extended their lead to 2-0. The final ODI match will be played at the same venue, Multan Cricket Stadium, on the 12th of June.
