Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has bashed Virat Kohli for not responding to Babar Azam's tweet. Recently, the Pakistan captain made a heartwarming tweet after Kohli failed to score big against England in the second ODI. The tweet said “This too shall pass. Stay strong. #ViratKohli.”

This tweet garnered a lot of praise from India and Pakistan fans and was a buzz in both countries.

Meanwhile, Afridi feels that any sport improves between countries. He feels that athletes can do a much better job than politicians in improving relations between nations and many athletes have done it before.

“Be it cricket or any other sport, it improves relations (between countries). Athletes can do a much better job at it than politicians, and many of them are doing the same," Afridi told SAMAA TV.

The 2009 20-20 World Cup winner added that Babar has given an incredible message and Kohli should have responded by now. The veteran player feels that there is no chance that Kohli will respond to his Pakistani counterpart's Tweet.

“Babar has given across an incredible message. I don’t know if there has been a response from the other side. I think Virat should have responded by now. It would be a very big thing if there is a response to Babar’s tweet, but I don’t think that is going to happen," he added.

After a while, the Pakistan skipper was asked about his Tweet by the media. He said that he feels that Virat needs to needs to be backed in the current situation. The Lahore player added that he understands how a player feels in a situation like this.

"I just feel that in the present situation Kohli needs support and to be backed. I tweeted wishing him the best because I know how a player feels when he is going through this period and he needs the support of everyone."

After the third ODI against England, Virat will go on a rest during the West Indies.
