In the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League, the batters entertained the fans with some jaw-dropping performances. In 29 matches played, three players managed to reach the illustrious 100-run mark. The leading players include RR skipper Sanju Samson, RR opening batter Jos Buttler, and RCB batter Devdutt Padikkal.
Former Indian batsman, Virender Sehwag, seemed highly impressed with PBSK middle-order batsman Shahrukh Khan. He praised the young player generously. Sehwag compared Khan with West Indies power-hitter Kieron Pollard. Sehwag believes Khan has the same ability to hit big sixes.
When Pollard came to IPL, everyone was running after him. He could hit sixes by just standing at a place. Shahrukh has the same ability although he has not played a big knock yet. He did not experience an ideal run in the now-suspended league. Khan registered a score of 6*, 47, 15*, 22, 13, 0, and 4 through seven innings. He failed to convert his good start in the matches to something substantial. Virender Sehwag contended that Khan could not play the big knock as he came to bat in the lower order.
If Shahrukh Khan bats in the top order, he can do a lot of damage and even score a century
The veteran, Virender Sehwag claimed, Tamil Nadu batsman, Shahrukh Khan can do a lot of damage in the top order. If given a chance to bat in the higher-order, the day he clicks, he could manage to hit a century. There is not much a player like Khan can do if they come to bat low in the order. There are many batsmen who worry about what happened in the previous ball. Khan does not fall in that category. Sehwag opined that Khan is the kind of player who does not seem to think of what happened in the previous ball. That kind of player has a higher probability of succeeding in a career.
The Indian Premier League(IPL) got postponed due to the surge in COVID 19 cases in the secure bio bubble. Just 29 matches were played when the decision was taken. The league will resume later this year.
