Shahrukh Khan to build a stadium in Los Angeles along with USA MLC T20

The famous Bollywood actor, Shahrukh Khan, is all set to build a cricket stadium in Greater Los Angeles. His cricket team and a USA MLC T20 team will work together to develop a 'world-class' stadium.

The actor announced the same in a statement that he released. "Plans to build a world-class cricket stadium in the greater Los Angeles area is exciting for us and MLC. This will no doubt have a transformational impact for cricket in one of the world's most iconic metropolitan destinations," read the caption.

The statement further said that collaboration with MLC T20 is based on the future of the shortest format tournament in the country. "Our investment in MLC in America, is based on our belief in the exciting future of cricket in the USA," read the statement.

According to reports, the stadium would have a seating capacity of 10,000 people. The project will be built on a 15-acre plot of land in Irvine.

Meanwhile, Sharukh Khan's team in the Indian T20 League 2022, Kolkata, has had a topsy-turvy campaign. The Shreyas Iyer-led team has played nine games but has only managed three wins in the season. They currently stand eighth on the points table. The men in purple are presently on a five-match losing streak. They will need to elevate their game in order to turn their fortunes around.

The team skipper, Shreyas Iyer, is their leading run-scorer with 290 runs in nine games. He has an average of 36.25 and a strike rate of 137.44. He is also the fifth-highest run-scorer of the season. With the ball, Umesh Yadav has been standout player. He has taken 14 wickets in the season in nine games. Yadav is among the highest wicket-takers of the season. Kolkata plays their next game against Rajasthan on the 2nd of May at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
