IPL franchises set to miss their key players in the remaining of the tournament

Notably, the T20 competition was suspended for an indefinite time on May 4 after successfully conducting 29 games. Some players and support staff members had returned positive Covid-19 results. According to sources, some IPL franchises are going to miss their key players in the remaining of the tournament. All the national cricket teams have a hectic international calendar, and many boards are unlikely to change to their schedule. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has clearly stated that the English players will not participate in the UAE leg of IPL 2021. England is set to tour Bangladesh and Pakistan for a limited-over series after the five-match Test series against India.

Talking about Rahman and Shakib, the duo played in the first half of IPL 2021. BCB had also provided them with a NOC till May 18. Bangladesh Cricket Board had given the NOC to ensure that both the players are back home in time for the three-match One Day series against Sri Lanka. In September, Bangladesh is going to host England in Dhaka for three One Day Internationals followed by three T20 Internationals.

Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan had also decided to skip PSL 6 to participate in the forthcoming Dhaka Premier League. The sixth season of the Pakistan Super League is set to return in the upcoming months. Shakib Al Hasan did not feature in the last season of the Dhaka Premier League due to a ban. However, he is now free to represent any franchise in the upcoming season of the tournament. The Dhaka Premier League is going to start on May 31.
