Former pacer Ashish Nehra believes that Shakib Al Hasan will emerge as the most expensive player in the IPL 2021 mini-auction. The event is going to take place in Chennai on 18th February.

The requirement for overseas cricketers has always been enormous and always generates interest during the auction. Despite Glenn Maxwell and Chris Morris are expected to receive huge bids, Ashish Nehra believes it’s Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan who will emerge as the costliest player in auction. SRH released the all-rounder in 2019 after being banned by the ICC.

Glenn Maxwell will be the most expensive buy in the IPL 2021 mini-auction: Aakash Chopra

Hasan is one of the finest all-rounders at the moment. He can be a remarkable middle-order batsman, capable of bowling 3 to 4 overs every match. Shakib Al Hasan has featured in 63 IPL matches, scoring 746 runs at an average of 21.31.

On the other hand, former Indian batsman Aakash Chopra believes that its Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who will emerge as the most expensive player.

Maxwell, one of the most dynamic batsmen in white-ball cricket, hasn’t been able to live up to the expectations in the last few seasons. The Australian had a brilliant season for Kings XI Punjab in IPL 2014, scoring 552 runs. In the previous two seasons, he only scored 108 and 169 runs respectively while playing for Kings XI Punjab and Delhi Capitals.
