Bangladesh all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan achieved an exceptional feat during the third ODI against West Indies. The 33-year-old is now the only all-rounder to score 6,000 runs and scalp 300 wickets in a single country. Hasan has recorded these figures across Tests, ODIs and T20Is while playing on Bangladeshi soil. Ever since his debut for Bangladesh in 2006, he has set the standard for all-rounders in international cricket. Since then, the southpaw has accomplished several milestones and has become one of the biggest names in the cricketing world. Kapil Dev has also scored more than 4000 runs and 300 wickets in India.
The ongoing series against West Indies is Shakib Al Hasan's comeback in the international circuit after sustaining a one-year ban from international cricket. Hasan eliminated all the apprehension around his comeback with an outstanding performance in the first ODI against West Indies. The 33-year-old picked up 4 wickets for just 8 runs to restrict the visitors to a total of 122. Bangladesh won the match by 6 wickets.
The second encounter between both the teams was no different. West Indies were again bundled out for just 148 before. Bangladesh quickly chased the target down with 7 wickets still in hand. Shakib scored 43 runs and looked in great form. In the ongoing third ODI match, Hasan smashed 51 runs in the first innings before R Reifer dismissed him.
