Former Australian leg spinner Shane Warne met with an accident while he was riding a bike on November 28. He was accompanied by his son Jackson. The father-son duo casually went out, when they fell from the bike. There are no serious injury concerns, but the 52-year-old is still suffering from pain. The former Australian leg-spinner visited the hospital for a check-up to ensure he has not damaged any body parts.
“I’m a bit battered and bruised and very sore,” said Shane Warne after the accident according to The Age. The cricketer-turned-expert felt he might have damaged his hip or foot. However, he is likely to return for a commentary stint ahead of the Ashes series set to begin on December 8.
Meanwhile, Warne backed the inclusion of uncapped wicketkeeper batter Josh Inglis in the team in the place of Tim Paine. The former Australian leg-spinner feels it is the right time to groom the youngster. Apart from Inglis, Matthew Wade and Alex are in contention to don the gloves for the five-match Ashes series against England.
Warne was recently in news for his predictions on the Australian team in the recently concluded 20-20 World Cup.
His statement regarding Steve Smith should be dropped from the team and later the management should be stick with him as he is Mr. fix it hogged the majority of limelight. He also hogs a major share of attention for all the wrong reasons. While playing competitive cricket for Australia, there were always some issues for Warne with players.
However, he finished his career as one of the greatest leg spinners to have ever played the game. He took 708 Test wickets and 293 ODI wickets. He also has a 50-0ver World Cup Title to his name.
