Shoaib Akhtar feels Mohammad Asif is better than Bumrah and Amir

In the year 2006, Akhtar and Asif were tested positive for using performance enhancement drugs.

Till that point, Asif had grabbed 106 wickets in Tests and 46 wickets in the One Day International format. At the age of 27, his cricketing career was over as he was imposed a seven-year ban. The right-arm pacer did not feature in a single match after that for the Pakistan side.

Veteran Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar has termed Asif as one of the smartest bowlers he has ever seen. He also opined that Asif could have become better than the legendary pacer Wasim Akram. He further added that unorthodox batting genius AB de Villiers also found it challenging to face the deliveries by Asif.

Shoaib Akhtar feels that Jasprit Bumrah is a keen bowler

The Rawalpindi Express also stated that Bumrah is another bowler who is a smart pacer. The veteran thinks that after Asif, it is Bumrah who is the smartest fast bowler presently. People were doubtful about his fitness in Test cricket, but he has a quick bouncer and he is deceptive.

The 45-year-old also named Bumrah as one of the most likeable players that he has ever come across. He also said that Bumrah displays his aggression in the length that he bowls.

The former pacer highlights that everyone had speculations about the longevity of Jasprit Bumrah owing to his unorthodox action. The Indian pacer has arched all the odds and has become a legend at a young age. In a profession that lasted a decade, Shoaib Akhtar has picked up 178 wickets in Tests and 247 wickets in ODI cricket for Pakistan.

Jasprit Bumrah made his international debut in 2016. In the four-year space, the 27-year-old has become India’s blue-chip bowler. Bumrah has picked 76 Test wickets at an average of 20. Talking about his ODI career, he has scalped 167 wickets for India. Furthermore, he also has 109 IPL scalps in his name. Jasprit Bumrah is currently one of the best all-format bowlers.
