The Men in Blue kicked off their 20-20 World Cup campaign in Melbourne on 23 October 2022. It was their first match and they faced the arch-rivals Pakistan. As they lost to Pakistan last year in the World Cup, both fans and players were looking to do well this year.

Speaking of the match, both teams produced a thriller at MCG. But, in the end, India managed to win the match, thanks to Virat Kohli’s match-winning knock. But, during the match, the umpire gave a no-ball decision which made headlines. Now, the former Pakistani pacer came up with a silly tweet regarding that decision on Twitter. Fans did not like it as they blamed and made that tweet viral.

Here is the shared tweet:

Fans have started slamming Shoaib Akhtar for such a silly tweet after losing to India

Speaking of the tweet, Shoaib Akhtar wrote: “Umpire bhaiyo, food for thought aaj raat k liye.” The incident took place during the last over of the match. On the fourth delivery of that over, Mohamamd Nawaz bowled a juicy full-toss to Virat Kohli. He smashed that to the leg side for a six. But, for height, the umpire gave that ball as a no-ball.

Pakistan players were also unhappy as they thought that it was under waist height only. But, the decision stood and India got a free hit on the next delivery. Eventually, India managed to win the match on the last delivery of that over by four wickets.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and asked Pakistan to bat first. The Men in Green scored 159 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs. In reply, India chased it down in the last ball of the match only. For India, both Arshdeep Singh and Hardik Pandy took three wickets each with the ball. But, Virat Kohli scored 82* runs off 53 balls, including six fours and four sixes. His inning was crucial as India kicked off the World Cup campaign with a thrilling win.
