The ongoing season of the CPL 2022 has reached its final stage. Once again Guyana Amazon Warriors' dreams of winning their maiden title have been shattered once again. Trinabgo Knight Riders, the most successful team (four titles) in the history of the tournament, finished last. Former champions, Barbados Royals and Jamaica Tallawahs will have at another title win. Both teams have won the title two times each.

Meanwhile, a strange video from the tournament is going viral on social media. Apparently, the video is from the last league game between the Royals and the Warriors. In the video, it is seen that the Warriors' all-rounder Odean Smith kicks away the ball at the end of his over. The incident happened on the last ball of the 16th of Barbados' innings batting first. This resulted in the Blue Brigade stealing two runs.

This might have been a dot ball if not for Smith's unnecessary act. Guyana skipper Shimron Hetmyer was clearly unhappy after the incident.

Talking about the game, the Kyle Myers-led Royals were asked to bat first. They could only manage 125 all-out in 17.3 overs. Former skipper Jason Holder (42) was the only shining star in the poor performance of the team with the bat. Their six batters failed to cross the double-digit mark. For the five-time finalists (Guyana), Romario Shepherd took three wickets while Keemo Paul and Odean Smith took two each. On the other hand, Shakib Al Hasan and Imran Tahir took one each.

In reply, the Men In Black chase down the target easily despite some hiccups. Al Hasan scored 53 off 30 balls to take the team home. In the qualifier, Barbados returned the favor and thrashed their opponents brutally, Rahkeem Cornwall scored 91 runs for his side. On the other hand, Guyana has been crashed out after losing to Jamaica Tallawahs in the Qualifier Two.
