Shubman Gill stays relaxed while taking the game on Pat Cummins

Pat Cummins mentioned that he is a huge fan of Shubman Gill, and he admires the way the batsman stays calm while taking the game on. The 21-year-old was one of the best performers for the Indian cricket team against Australia. Gill smashed a counter-attacking 91 in the second innings of the fourth and final Test in Brisbane. It was something that set up India’s historic chase of 328 at the Gabba. He missed out on a hundred in the 4th Brisbane Test but garnered praise from several cricketers for his batting exploits. Overall, Gill managed to score 259 runs averaging 51.8 in three Tests.

KKR set to play first three IPL games in Chennai

Both Gill and Cummins will be representing Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021. This year, all eight franchises will follow a different format. All the sides will be deprived of home advantage as KKR, too, would miss playing at the iconic Eden Gardens. In IPL 2020, Shubman Gill amassed 440 runs in 14 matches, whereas Pat Cummins picked up 12 scalps. He also scored 146 runs in 14 games. The Australian fast bowler was the most expensive buy in the 2020 IPL Auction. KKR signed him for a whopping amount of 15.50 crores. On the other hand, Shubman Gill was bought by the Kolkata Knight Riders back in 2018. Since then, the youngster has been a mainstay for the Kolkata-based franchise. 

The Kolkata-based franchise, who bowed out of the group stages in IPL 2020, will be keen to add one more trophy to their tally of two titles they won in 2012 and 2014. KKR is set to play their first three games of the season in Chennai. Eoin Morgan and Co. will play their first IPL match on 11th April 2021 against the Sun Risers Hyderabad.
