Lawn Tennis is one of the most intense and strengthening games in the world. It takes a lot of mental and physical strength to compete. However, in the ongoing Canada Open, two Tennis stars, Maria Sakkari and Danielle Collins, got into a heated argument. During their second-round clash, both were seen having verbal fights on the field.

The eighth seed Sakkari advanced to the Round of 32 in Montreal through a walkover, while Collins, after qualifying for the main draw, defeated World No. 26 Elina Svitolina 6-2, 6-2 in the first round. In the game, Collins secured the first set by 6-4 and took the lead by 2-1 in the second when Sakkari served.

Sakkari's first serve was a fault, and her subsequent hit bounced outside the court and went into the crowd. Although Sakkari raised her hand in apology, no warning was issued by the chair. As Sakkari was about to serve again, Collins questioned the chair umpire if she saw the ball hit into the crowd, which started the argument.

The conversation went like this:

"Did you just see that? Did you see what happened?" the American questioned the chair. In response, Sakkari said, "It didn't even hit anyone. It was on the ground." However, Collins got aggressive and asked Sakkari to shut up. She said, "Shut your mouth. Shut your mouth." The argument continued as The Greek asked about Collins' problem. "What is your problem? I didn't hit anyone. I framed the ball," the Greek said. You hit the ball into the stands. Maria, you almost hit someone," the American responded.

Collins set to face Leylah Fernandez in the third round

Seeing no end to the arguments, the chair intervened and asked both players to calm down. After a brief pause, the game started once again, and Collins continued to dominate the game. She won the second set 6-2 and moved ahead in the tournament. After eliminating Maria Sakkari, Danielle Collins is set to face Leylah Fernandez in the third round of the Canada Open.

Fernandez granted a wildcard entry to the main draw of the WTA 1000 event, overcame Peyton Stearns 6-3, 6-4 in the first round and then secured a 7-5, 5-7, 6-3 victory over last year's runner-up and 11th seed Beatriz Haddad Maia to earn her spot in the Round of 16 in Montreal. Collins and Fernandez will engage in their first-ever WTA Tour encounter, and the winner of the match will face either top seed Iga Swiatek or 14th seed Karolina Muchova in the quarterfinals of the Canadian Open.
