One day before their departure for the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, six members of the Indian women's cricket team still await their visas. Regarding this matter, the BCCI is in contact with the Indian Olympic Association. At the Commonwealth Games, women's cricket is being played for the first time. The Indian team is currently in Bengaluru for practice and is due to fly to Birmingham on Sunday.

In addition, the kits for the players have not yet arrived in Bangalore. Although the kits haven't arrived in Bengaluru either, an IOA representative stated that they will be provided by Saturday. A 15-member squad for the Games, which begin on July 28, had been announced by the BCCI.

"Few of the visas came in today but they are still six left for processing including three players and three players' support staff. The remaining should come by tomorrow. We have very little over control over the process anyway. There is a summer rush and UK visas are taking time," an IOA source was quoted saying by NDTV Sports.

Group A includes the women in blue as well as Barbados, Pakistan, and Australia. India's campaign gets underway on July 29 against the powerful Australia, and on July 31 they take on Pakistan. Additionally, a support crew of eight people with three backup players was announced.

On the other hand, on July 30, Group B's opening encounter will pit the hosts England against Sri Lanka. The group stages will start on July 29 and continue through August 4. The semifinal matches will be played on August 6, while the bronze-medal game and final game will be played on August 7. All the matches will be played at the Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham.
