Team India qualified for the final of the ongoing Asia Cup 2023 after they defeated the hosts Sri Lanka in the super-4 match by 41 runs. It is the second consecutive time that India have qualified for the final of an ODI Asia Cup under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. The last time, was five years back in the year 2018 when India reached the final and clinched the title after defeating Bangladesh by 3 wickets.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma attracted some reactions and wishes from the fans after he came up with a post on his official X account after India’s win against Sri Lanka. In this post, Rohit posted about the two consecutive wins for India in the ongoing continental championship in two successive days.

“3 Days, 2 Matches, 2 Wins, Good Night,” read Rohit Sharm’s post on X (formerly Twitter). Notably, the skipper himself is looking in brilliant batting form in the Asia Cup so far. He has scored three consecutive half-centuries except for one early dismissal against the arch-rivals Pakistan in India’s first group-stage match.

Here's a look at Rohit Sharma's social media post

The 36-year-old is currently the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 194 runs in 4 innings of the 4 matches, he played so far. Rohit has scored these runs with an impressive average of 64.66, including three successive half-centuries.

Apart from this, he also became the second fastest to reach the individual mark of 10,000 runs just after his current teammate and former Indian skipper, Virat Kohli. Rohit has now become the 6th Indian batter to enter the club of 10,000 ODI runs, alongside the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli, Sourav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, and MS Dhoni.

Interestingly, all of these six members of the 10,000 club had led the Indian team on different occasions followed by the new entrant and current skipper, Rohit Sharma.

Now, Rohit Sharma will be leading the men in blue in the upcoming Super-4 match against Bangladesh on September 15 at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo.
