The 20-20 World Cup 2022 is currently going on in Australia. After the qualifiers, the “Super 12” stage is going on in different venues. Top teams have already played atleast one tournament match within their respective groups. But, rain has become a frustrating factor in this tournament for fans.
Before the tournament, India played Australia in a warm-up match on 17 October 2022. Then, they were ready to play another warm-up clash in Brisbane against New Zealand. But, due to rain, the game got called off. Pakistan took on Afghanistan in Brisbane on the same day before the India clash. But, only Afghanistan's innings occurred as Pakistan's innings got washed out due to rain.
Rain can play spoilsport in many teams’ dreams to win this 20-20 World Cup
On 23 October 2022, India kicked off their World Cup campaign against Pakistan in Melbourne. But, several reports were there that rain might hamper that mega clash. Melbourne’s weather was the only headline before that clash. But, the weather changed and the match happened without any interruption. However, until now, three games have been affected in this World Cup due to rain. First, South Africa took on Zimbabwe on 24 October in Hobart. Due to rain, the match became a nine-over affair. South Africa were cruising while chasing 80 runs in nine overs. They scored 51 runs in just three overs.
But, the rain came and the match got abandoned, So, both teams got one point each. After that, on 26 October 2022, England took on Irelan in Melbourne. Ireland batted first and scored 157 runs. In reply, England managed 105 runs for five wickets in 14.3 overs. Then, the rain came and the match did not start again. Due to the D/L method, England lost the match by five runs as they needed to be at 110 runs at that time. After that clash, Afghanistan were scheduled to take on New Zealand on the same ground. But, the rain continued and the match got postponed. So, fans became angry at the Governing Body of Cricket for organizing the mega event in the rainy season in Australia.
Here is how fans have blamed the Governing Body of Cricket for rain in Australia during the 20-20 World Cup 2022:
Like honestly tell me which world cup has these many games abandoned due to rain.

Why did u arranged world cup in Australia in this rainy season @ICC? You should have consider the Aus weather . Many deserving teams will suffer due to rain. SA 100% suffered & perhaps England too. What will u do if it's rain in semifinals & finals? Rain gonna ultimate winner.

Was @ICC sleeping while scheduling world cup matches ? Rain in almost every match , pathetic , no reserve day as well !!!

#NZvsAFG This is really bad. After Proteas, Eng now Kiwis have their game impacted by rain. Why on earth do we not have reserve day for world cup games?

Shocking seeing yet another world cup ruined by rain. Why do they always hold them in England?! It's always being washed out. 🙄🙄#T20WorldCup

@ICC having back to back matches at the same ground is just rubbish. If it's a must win for a team and if rain interferes, it's all over for them. Allotting just 4 venues for a WORLD CUP? Whereas 5 for WBBL? What is wrong with y'll?

Rain seems the be the highlight of this world cup
