The 20-20 World Cup 2022 is currently going on in Australia. After the qualifiers, the “Super 12” stage is going on in different venues. Top teams have already played atleast one tournament match within their respective groups. But, rain has become a frustrating factor in this tournament for fans.

Before the tournament, India played Australia in a warm-up match on 17 October 2022. Then, they were ready to play another warm-up clash in Brisbane against New Zealand. But, due to rain, the game got called off. Pakistan took on Afghanistan in Brisbane on the same day before the India clash. But, only Afghanistan's innings occurred as Pakistan's innings got washed out due to rain. 

Rain can play spoilsport in many teams’ dreams to win this 20-20 World Cup

On 23 October 2022, India kicked off their World Cup campaign against Pakistan in Melbourne. But, several reports were there that rain might hamper that mega clash. Melbourne’s weather was the only headline before that clash. But, the weather changed and the match happened without any interruption. However, until now, three games have been affected in this World Cup due to rain. First, South Africa took on Zimbabwe on 24 October in Hobart. Due to rain, the match became a nine-over affair. South Africa were cruising while chasing 80 runs in nine overs. They scored 51 runs in just three overs. 

But, the rain came and the match got abandoned, So, both teams got one point each. After that, on 26 October 2022, England took on Irelan in Melbourne. Ireland batted first and scored 157 runs. In reply, England managed 105 runs for five wickets in 14.3 overs. Then, the rain came and the match did not start again. Due to the D/L method, England lost the match by five runs as they needed to be at 110 runs at that time. After that clash, Afghanistan were scheduled to take on New Zealand on the same ground. But, the rain continued and the match got postponed. So, fans became angry at the Governing Body of Cricket for organizing the mega event in the rainy season in Australia.
