The England-South Africa Test series is in fine balance with both teams having won one game each so far. Naturally, the third and final Test will be the decider for the series, and hence, both teams would be looking to win it.
In what has come as a huge blow to South Africa, their middle-order batter Rassie van der Dussen has been ruled out of the upcoming match with a fracture to his left index finger. Dussen sustained this injury while fielding on day one of the second Test between the two sides in Manchester.
Dussen held the fort alongside Keegan Petersen on day three of the second Test but was dismissed by Ben Stokes on 41, following which the home side won the match by an innings.
Rassie van der Dussen is advised consultation with a finger specialist to further access the weightage of his injury. All-rounder Wiaan Mulder has been chosen by the South African selectors as the replacement for Dussen for the third and Final Test against England. The third Test match between England and South Africa, scheduled to start on September 8th, will be played at The Oval.
