India and South Africa locked horns in the last T20I of the three-match series in Indore. The home team won the toss and elected to bowl first. The Proteas had a steady start as openers, skipper Temba Bavuma and Quinton de Kock scored 30 runs in the first four overs. Bavuma (3) was the first wicket to fall as he was caught at short midwicket by Rohit Sharma off Umesh Yadav.
This wicket was a blessing in disguise for the Green Brigade. The next batters including de Kock unleashed themselves on the Indian bowlers. Rilee Rossouw came and stitched a partnership of 90 runs with De Kock. The latter was looking good to get his another T20I hundred after scoring 68. However, he got run-out in the 13th over. Tristan Stubbs, who is the costliest after the inaugural SA20 player auction came out to bat.
Indian batters got starts but couldn't convert them into big totals
He carried on the good work by De Kock and Rossouw. Stubbs and Rossouw stitched a partnership of 87 runs to further pile on the misery of the opposition. The left-hander, Rilee, went on to score a T20I hundred and remained unbeaten at 100. David Miller played a cameo of 19 runs in just five balls to take the team to 227/3. Talking about the Men In Blue's bowling, all of them had a miserable day.
In reply, the Rohit Sharma-led side had a poor start as they lost the wicket of the skipper on the second ball of the innings. Shreyas Iyer was trapped lbw by Wayne Parnell in the next over. Rishabh Pant (27 off 14) and Dinesh Karthik (46 off 21) started off well but couldn't convert it into a big total. Last match hero, Suryakumar Yadav (8) couldn't much in the game and the team was reduced to 86/5.
These wickets meant that the game was pretty much over for the home side. They were further reduced to 120/8. Deepak Chahar (31) saved the face of the Indian batting. India was all-out for 178 runs, losing the game by 49 runs

India have gone into panic mode today. Not too worried about the batting collapse, as Virat and Rahul would have held them together, itโs the bowling that will continue to give us nightmares #INDvsSA #INDvsSAT20I

Deepak Chahar is an upgrade on Bhuvneshwar Kumar when you consider his batting ability. He offers the same new ball value as Bhuvi & also more suited to the T20 format as a batter. Neither of them are offering death bowling value. Better to play with Chahar in the XI? #INDvSA

Miller last game and Rossouw this game. Agressive left hand middle order bats are such an asset. Often force fielding teams to change their plans. Exactly what happened tonight with India underbowling Axar. #INDvSA

Did India take this match lightly? If they really wanted to test themselves, they should have batted first. Axar Patel bowled just one over, canโt figure out why. This fielding effort will ensure that India will have to get an over-par score, always. #INDvSA
