India are all set to face South Africa for the two matches of the Test series slated to commence on December 26 in Centurion. However, India's head coach, Rahul Dravid, was seen addressing the pre-match conference, where he opened up about the emotions of the ODI World Cup 2023 final loss and the upcoming plans of the Men in Blue.
The former India skipper reveals that Team India has moved on from its disappointing days. In addition, the legendary cricketer says that players are good at moving on from the loss. The former batting legend reveals that players can't take the loss with them, or else it would be difficult to move on from the wrenching loss.
"It's happened in the past, yes it's disappointing, but we have moved on from it. Now you have got something ahead of you. Players are good at that (moving on). We are forced to do that, we learn how to do that from the time we are kids. Every time you get out, you are disappointed, you have another inning to play, and you have to perform in the next innings, so you can't let the disappointment of the past stay with you. As cricketers, you learn how to deal with that, from the time you are kids," Rahul Dravid said on the press-conference match.
I don't think you need to motivate players to play for India: Rahul Dravid
However, Rahul Dravid revealed that he does not need to motivate any payers after the loss to face South Africa for the upcoming Test game. In addition, the head coach is confident about Team India playing good cricket in the next series.
"I don't think you need to motivate players to play for India. I don't think any of our players are lacking in motivation. Coming to play in South Africa, representing your country, playing Test cricket here with an opportunity to play some very good cricket, I don't think anyone is lacking in motivation. I did not have to motivate anyone," he added further.
