Young South African batting prodigy, Dewald Brevis has gotten his maiden international call-up in the national squad of the Proteas. He has been picked by the selectors for the upcoming home series of 3 T20Is and 5 ODIs against Australia in August and September. Brevis has impressed everyone with his amazing performances in franchise league cricket across the world.

He made his debut in the domestic circuit almost two years back in the year 2021 with his first-ever T20 match for South Africa U19 against the Easterns. After that, he made his List-A debut last year in December 2022 for the Lions. Since then, the 20-year-old star batting sensation has scored 247 in eight innings of the 8 matches, he played so far in List-A cricket. He has scored these runs with a fine average of 35.28 including one half-century with the willow.

Dewald Brevis included in both the T20I and ODI squads of South Africa

Speaking of South Africa’s home assignment against Australia, the T20I series will commence on the 30th of August later this month, at the Kingsmead Stadium in Durban. Following the conclusion of the three-match T20I series on the 3rd of September in Durban, both teams will lock horns in the first ODI of the five-match series at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein.
