Sri Lanka announce squad for South Africa series

Sri Lanka have announced the squad for the South Africa series. The squad is boosted by the return of two stalwarts of Sri Lanka cricket - Dinesh Chandimal and Kusal Perera. Chandimal was dropped from the team for England and India series after a string of poor performances. Meanwhile, Perera missed the India series due to a shoulder injury. The hosts have also named four uncapped players - Dilshan Madushanka, Sahan Arachchige, Pulina Tharanga, and Mahesh Theekshana in the side.

The series comprise 3 ODIs and as many T20Is, slated to get underway on September 2, with the remaining two ODIs to be played on September 4 and 7. The T20Is will be played on September 10, 12 and 14. R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo will play host to the six white-ball matches of the tour.

Meanwhile, the visitors had also announced their squad a few days ago. Wicketkeeper-batter Quinton de Kock has been rested from the ODIs while the team will also miss the services of Lungi Ngidi, who has pulled out of the series owing to personal reasons. They are also sweating over the fitness of David Miller.
