Sri Lanka and Australia will lock horns with each other in the three-match T20I series in Colombo and Pallekele from June 7 to 11. Both teams will start their preparations for the 20-20 World Cup with this series. Both teams played the five-match T20I series in February this year.

In that series, the Aussies emerged victorious as they won the series by 4-1. The Lankan Lions will be looking to take revenge from the 20-20 World Cup holders. Talking about the Lions squad, they have got some faces who have played for the national side but couldn't establish themselves.

On the other hand, the Kangaroos have arrived on the Island nation with a full-strength squad. Talking about the Head to Head between both teams, they have played 22 games in the shortest format. Out of those, the Lions have won 8, while the Kangaroos have won 14.

In this listicle, we will discuss three players to watch out for in the series:

  1. David Warner

The opening batter has been one of the most successful batters in Asia. Talking about his T20I batting record, he has scored 846 runs in 31 games at an average of 30.21 including seven fifties. However, his average in Sri Lanka is a tad lower but he has the opportunity to come good in the series as the hosts' bowling department lacks experience at the highest level. Not to forget, he had a decent time with the bat in the Indian T20 League 2022 while playing for Delhi.

2. Charitha Asalanka

He has been one of the shining stars for Sri Lanka since making his debut last year. In the 17 games he played, he has scored 481 runs averaging 27.86 and striking at 124.40. However, in the six games he played against Australia, he only scored 99 runs at an average of 16.50 and a strike rate of 119.27. The left-hander would like to improve this record in his home conditions and prove his worth at the international stage.

3. Josh Hazlewood

Once perceived as a long-format bowler, the right-arm pacer has evolved as a bowler in the shortest form of the game in the last one year or so. During the 20-20 World Cup last year, he was one of the highest wicket-takers and helped his side lift their maiden title.

Recently, in the Indian T20 League 2022, he had a decent season with the ball. With 20-20 World Cup to be played later this year, he would like to solidify his place in the team. The New South Wales player has the ability to pick wickets even in the non-helpful Asian conditions.
