Stafanie Taylor becomes the second Windies female cricketer to claim a hat-trick

West Indies women's team skipper Stafanie Taylor became the second Windies female cricketer to claim a hat-trick. Taylor reached this feat during the third and final T20 international game against Pakistan at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium. Taylor returned with the figures of 4 for 17 and helped her side restrict the visitors to a paltry score of 102. The previous hat-trick for West Indies was taken by Anisa Mohammed against South Africa back in 2018. Anisa had also bowled brilliantly to end with impressive figures of 3-24 off her four overs.

West Indies completed a 3-0 series win over Pakistan

The Pakistan cricket team opted to bat first and went off to a great start. Opening batters Javeria Khan and Muneeba Ali scored 21 runs in 14 balls. However, their partnership was restricted in the third over by Shamilia Connell. It was a 22-run stand between Aliya and Diana that ensured Pakistan crossed the 100-run mark. Anisa Mohammed, the most successful bowler in women's T20Is, picked up the wickets of Sidra Nawaz and Ayesha Naseem in successive overs. Her first wicket was Nida Dar, who got bowled after scoring 17 off 19 balls in the 11th over. The visitors tried everything against the Windies pace unit until Taylor hit the final nail in the coffin. She picked up the wickets of Fatima Sana, Diana Baig, and Anam Amin to script history.

Stafanie Taylor starred again during the hosts' run chase. In pursuit of a 102-run target, the Windies captain played an unbeaten knock of 43 runs off 41 balls. An unbeaten 48-run partnership between Taylor (43) and Kycia Knight (24) helped the hosts chase down the target with five balls spare. With this, the hosts completed a 3-0 series win over Pakistan.
