The 22-year old posted an Instagram story of himself the admitted to the hospital. He assured the fans of his recovery, and said that he will be back in action soon. "Admitted in hospital and recovering from fever. Thank you all for your good wishes. Will be back in action soon," he wrote. The exact details of when he will be back in the team camp are not yet known.

Meanwhile, Mandeep Singh has replaced Shaw in the playing XI. He, however, did not get the best start in the previous game against Hyderabad. He was dismissed for a six-ball duck while opening the innings. Despite a poor game, he got an opportunity to star in the game against Chennai.

Prithvi Shaw, on the other hand, has done well with the bat this season while opening the innings with David Warner. On several instances, the pair has gotten the team off to a strong start. The Mumbai-born cricketer has scored 259 runs in nine innings, with two half-centuries, at a strike rate of 159.87 and an average of 28.77. He'll be eager to get back on the field.

The Delhi team is presently fifth in the points rankings, with five wins and five defeats in ten matches. They must win all four of their matches to ensure that their playoff berth is not reliant on other teams' performances. However, there are a few other teams in the race to the playoffs, and it might get very close in the end. Following the game against Chennai, Delhi will face Rajasthan on May 11th, Punjab on May 16th, and Mumbai on May 21st.
