The 15th season of the Indian T20 League is around the corner. The first game will be played between Chennai and Kolkata on March 26. Meanwhile, last month, the auction was conducted by the ITL governing council so that the franchises could build their sides for the upcoming season.

More than 200 players were sold to different franchises. However, due to the limitations on the squad size and purse, a lot of players could not find a buyer. In this listicle, we will look at the strongest XI of players who were unsold in the mega auction.

Strongest playing XI ft. unsold players

Martin Guptill

The New Zealand opening batter has played for Punjab, Mumbai, and Hyderabad in the ITL. However, he hasn't played the league since 2019. The right-hander is vastly experienced in T20Is with 112 games and 3299 runs under his belt.

Harnoor Singh

The left-hander hasn't played any T20 game at any level. However, during the U19 World Cup 2022, he showed his brilliance with the bat and displayed a wide array of strokes. This year, he went unsold.

Suresh Raina

Known as MR. ITL, the former India cricketer went unsold this year. However, he is one of the veterans of the tournament. In the 205 games he has played, the left-hander scored 5528 runs with one hundred.

Shakib Al Hasan

The Bangladesh all-rounder has played for Kolkata and Hyderabad from 2011 to 2021. In this period, he played 71 games and amassed 793 runs, in addition to his 63 wickets. This year, he surprisingly went unsold in the auction.

Vishnu Solanki

The Baroda played hasn't played in the ITL before. However, he is quite an experienced player in the domestic circuit. In the 46 games he has played, the right-hander has amassed 883 runs, striking at 122.98.

Sachin Baby

The explosive batter went unsold this year, although he strikes at 131.05 in domestic T20s for Kerala. Not to forget, he has played for Rajasthan, Hyderabad, and Bangalore from 2013 to 2021.

Apoorva Wankhede

The Amaravati born player has played 60 T20s for Vidarbha, amassing 1029 runs and striking at 133.11. Notably, he has played for Kolkata and Mumbai before.

Pawan Negi

The spin bowling all-rounder has played 50 games in the Indian T20 League. Overall, he has amassed 365 runs, striking at 126.29 and has 34 wickets to his name.

Taskin Ahmed

Last week, the Bangladeshi speedster was reportedly approached by Lucknow mentor Gautam Gambhir. However, his cricket board didn't issue a NOC to him. Taskin has played in 33 T20Is where he has 23 wickets to his name at an economy of 7.75. He recently led Bangladesh to a historic series win over South Africa in South Africa.

David Weise

The Namibian all-rounder has been prolific in the T20 leagues of India and Pakistan. He has played for Bangalore and Kolkata in India and for Lahore in Pakistan.

Dhawal Kulkarni

He has played for Mumbai and Rajasthan in the last 14 years. The right-arm medium pacer has 86 wickets to his name in 92 games.
