Hardik Pandya, the all-rounder of the Mumbai Indians, witnessed a scary moment in IPL on Tuesday. MI was playing against the Rajasthan Royals and Hardik Pandya was on the striking end. He was almost hit by a dangerous beamer on his head from RR bowler, Jofra Archer. The Indian all-rounder ducked just in time and saved himself from any mishap.

This incident occurred in the 18th over. Jofra Archer was on the bowling end and he was going for his first delivery of that over when the ball slipped out of his hand and shot directly towards Pandya’s head. However, in the nick of the time, Pandya managed to duck and it went for a four. As even the wicketkeeper failed to collect the ball, it was clocked at 152 kph.

Pandya was shocked with the delivery of Archer as many had seen him sitting after managing to save himself somehow. The England star immediately realized his mistake and raised his hands in apology. Just three deliveries later, Archer hit Suryakumar Yadav on the helmet with a well-directed bouncer.

The blow of his bouncer shook Yadav up as he had to get medical attention before resumed his innings. The MI batsman revenged the blow by thrashing the RR pacer hitting a wonderful six in his next ball.

Stuart Broad defended Jofra Archer’s beamer

As the deadly beamer of Jofra Archer to Pandya had drawn distinctive reactions from the cricket world. Stuart Broad, who is Jofra’s teammate in England, took part in the discussion as well. Broad was all in praise of Pandya on the first-hand. He lauded Pandya for the way he handled the ball and then he defended his England teammate as well.

“He’s played that brilliantly. I don’t think any bowler ever means these…”

Wrote Stuart Broad.

The outcome of the match came in favour of the Mumbai Indians by 57 runs. MI team made 193/4 batting first and Suryakumar Yadav stayed unbeaten at 79 runs. Chasing the score, RR scored 136 at the loss of all their wickets.
