In recent developments, Suresh Raina and Steve Smith were unsold in the first round of the Indian T20 League mega auction. The two were expected to go for lower prices but not unsold. However, they still can return to go under the hammer in the next round of the auction.
Suresh Rains aka Mr. IPl has been a great performer in the tournament and was a loyal player for the Chennai team. It was expected that the team will look to have him back on their side, but they did not. He wa part of the team that won all four titles and made major contributions in most of them.
Steve Smith is not the ideal T20 player, but just his presence in the team can be a major factor. He is a flexible batter, and teams could have used him as a floater. He has been a part of many teams in the tournament. Smith led the Pune team to their first-ever final in 2017, after a terrible 2016 season.

#cricket Not that surprised Steve Smith went unsold at the IPL auction but I think it might be something that benefits Australian cricket so thanks IPL franchises, you've actually done Australia a favour :p

Marnus is much better choice for Australia in T20 cricket, he'll give you a couple of overs of his leg spin consistently & right now a better T20 Batter than Steve Smith
