Indian T20 League (ITL) franchise Hyderabad have finalized their coaching staff for the 2022 edition of the ITL. The news was confirmed on their official Twitter account on December 23. Tom Moody returns as the head coach of the team after serving as the Director for the past two years. He will replace former England coach Trevor Bayliss. Legendary West Indian cricketer Brain Lara has been roped in as the batting coach of the team. He will also work as the strategy advisor of the team.
Hyderabad have also managed to get Dale Steyn onboard as the team’s fast bowling coach. Muttiah Muralitharan was Hyderabad's bowling mentor in 2021. Now, the former Sri Lankan spinner will work with the team as a spin consultant. On the other hand, Simon Katich has been named as the assistant coach of the team.
Apart from roping in these legendary cricketers, the 2016 champions have also signed Hemang Badani as the fielding coach and scout.

Hyderabad had a dismal outing in the 14th edition of the ITL. The team finished last on the points table. Worst, off-field issues garnered the majority of eyeballs. David Warner lost his place as the captain of the team and as a player. He was also not retained ahead of the mega auctions in 2022.
Hyderabad have retained Kane Williamson and two uncapped players Abdul Samad and Umran Malik. Williamson will continue to lead the side after taking over from Warner in the first half of the ITL in 2021.
