The Board of Control for Cricket in India recently made the announcement at its Special General Meeting that was held on Saturday. The 2nd phase of the IPL will be played in UAE in September-October

Back in 2014, the Indian cricket board was forced to conduct the initial phase of the season in UAE due to the General Elections in India. In 2020, the entire tournament was held in the UAE due to the COVID-19 situation in India. The BCCI had successfully hosted England in a full-fledged series in February-March. Due to this, the BCCI was hopeful of organising IPL in India, but the tournament was suspended after the virus breached the franchise bio-bubble. Thus, the remaining games of the tournament will now be completed in UAE. It is also known that several overseas players are anticipated to pull out of the IPL due to international commitments.

Talking about Suresh Raina, the southpaw had scored a half-century in his comeback match against Delhi Capitals. He smashed 69 runs in the next 6 games. With Moeen Ali coming to bat at No. 3, Suresh Raina had to come in to bat at number 4. However, the order is likely to change, and Raina might get to bat at 3 if Moeen Ali is named in England's T20 squad. It was a stunning comeback from the yellow army after what they went through last year in the UAE. IPL 2020 was the worst season for MS Dhoni and the team. The team struggled to score runs, bowl well and overall, they found it difficult to win games. As a result, CSK failed to make it to the playoffs for the first time in the history of the Indian Premier League. Chennai Super Kings has won 5 games out of 7 outings. The Yellow Army is currently placed at the 2nd spot in the points table. MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings will hope to perform well in the remaining games of the tournament.
