Former India selector MSK Prasad reckoned that Suryakumar Yadav would be the player to watch out in the series against Sri Lanka. Legendary batsman Rahul Dravid will company the Indian cricket team during the Sri Lanka tour in July. India will reach Sri Lanka on July 5. Three ODIs will take place on July 13, 16, and 19. It will then be followed by T20Is on July 22, 24, and 27. All the games will take place in Premadasa Stadium, Colombo.

MSK Prasad expects Mumbai Indians star batsman Suryakumar Yadav to be India's go-to man in the white-ball series against the Islanders. The Indian cricket team will be without the services of captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma. However, the former Indian selector believes that the youngsters and remaining experienced players in the Indian Premier League (IPL) will deliver the goods against the Islanders.
MSK Prasad also clarified what separates the current group cricketers from the previous batch of the 90s. He also pointed out that Suryakumar Yadav's brilliant batting debut in the T20Is against Eoin Morgan's England. After missing out on an opportunity to bat in his debut match, Suryakumar Yadav showcased his batting brilliance in the second match. He scored a half-century (57) against England.
Talking about his performance in the domestic circuit, Yadav had a quiet Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy but was in great form in the Vijay Hazare Trophy. He notched up scores of 50 against Delhi, 133 against Puducherry and 91 against Himachal Pradesh recently. The former also pointed out that Suryakumar has grabbed the opportunity with his achievements in domestic cricket and match-winning knocks for the Mumbai Indians in the IPL.
