He’s also the leading run-scorer in the T20Is this year having 1164 runs at an average of 46.56 and a strike rate of 187.43. During a recent interaction, the Mumbai batter was asked what would we do if he gets a picture of Virat Kohli appreciating him. Suryakumar Yadav had a heart-touching reply.

He said that he would keep it in his trophy room and see it first thing in the morning. The 32-year-old has had many memorable partnerships with Kohli throughout the year. The duo seem to love batting with each other and are lovingly called ‘Survir’ by their fan base.

‘SKY’, as he’s called by his fans, also became the second-highest run scorer in the history of T20Is in a calendar year. He’s second on the list behind Pakistan’s opener Mohammad Rizwan who scored 1326 runs in 2021 in 26 innings at an average of 73.66 and a strike rate of 134.89.

He became the fifth Indian batter to score a hundred in the shortest format of international cricket in June this year. He further scored another hundred against New Zealand on 19th November scoring a magnificent 111 off 51 balls and became the third Indian batter to score two hundreds in T20I after Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul.
