SWOT analysis of Chennai Squad: Can they make it two in two ?

Chennai are one of the most consistent teams in the history of the league. The USP of the team is was that they backed their players irrespective of their performances. In this year auction as well, they tried to pick most of the players they had let go off ahead of the auction. Here's a SWOT analysis of the Chennai team.

Strengths- Chennai stuck to their USP and tried to pick as many players who represented them in the last auction. This keeps their core alive for the upcoming season. While players were most teams will take some time to mix up, Chennai won't take much to get into the groove. 

Weaknesses- Lack of Indian fast bowlers could be one drawback. They only have Deepak Chahar who can make it to the playing XI from the available options of India fast bowler.

Opportunities- Chances for young players like Devon Conway, Maheesh Theeksana, and Rajvardhan Hangargekar could get into the limelight as Chennai is one of the more popular teams of the Indian T20 League. Also, players will get to play under the leadership of MS Dhoni which can often define a player's career. 

Threats- Imbalance of young and old players. They either have older players who are not in the best form or too young players with little experience.
