T Natarajan is disappointed for not being part of the squad for the forthcoming Test series against England. The 29-year-old impressed everyone in India's historic win against Australia. T Natarajan became the first Indian player to make a debut in all three formats on the same tour.
The Tamil Nadu pacer got his international debut in the third ODI against Australia. Natarajan impressed averyone as he scalped two crucial wickets from ten overs. With the end of the ODI series, he was immediately handed his T20I debut cap. The southpaw then emerged as one of the best performers for the team. Natarajan picked up six wickets, at an impressive economy of fewer than seven runs an over. He was the highest wicket-taker in the T20I series.
I am looking forward to playing in all formats: T Natarajan
Natarajan then made his Test debut at the Brisbane Cricket Ground. He was brought in as a replacement for Jasprit Bumrah. The bowler picked up three wickets including one from Marnus Labuschagne. Despite his outstanding performance down under, he has not been selected for the forthcoming series against England. The management has stated that the seamer needs rest as he has been playing constant cricket since IPL.
T Natarajan's brilliant performance in the Indian Premier League made headlines with his Yorkers and the ability to grab wickets in the death overs. Looking ahead, T Natarajan mentioned that he is looking forward to playing all three formats of the game consistently. The pacer is also all prepared to train accordingly. Jasprit Bumrah and Ishant Sharma will also make a comeback to the playing eleven. Bumrah had earlier missed the Brisbane Test due to an injury whereas Ishant was ruled out of the entire Test series against Australia. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj and Shardul Thakur are also included in the squad.
The last two Test matches of the four-match series are going to be played in Ahmedabad. The squad for these two games is yet to be announced by the officials. Considering Team India's recent injury woes, T Natarajan can probably get the call-up. The first Test encounter between India and England kicks-off on February 5 in Chennai.
