Former Indian cricketer and off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh is quite impressed with the likes of T Natarajan. In Natarajan’s maiden ODI match for the blue army, he bowled a decent spell of 2/70.
Furthermore, his maiden T20I match saw Natarajan pick 3 wickets, conceding just 30 runs in the process. Natarajan also delivered in the 2nd T20I, bagging 2 wickets and conceding just 20 runs in the spell.
Owing to his heroics, Harbhajan Singh has showered praise on the SRH lad. Harbhajan believes that Natarajan has what it takes to be one of India’s finest bowlers. Dedication and hard work are what Bhajji believes are the most contributing factors in one’s success in his/her career.
In a recent interview, Bhajji was nothing but praises for Natarajan. Bhajji believes that if Natarajan continues playing like this, he could be one of India’s most impactful players. Harbhajan also stated that Natarajan is someone who does not get discouraged easily. His confidence and composure have helped him perform wonders with the balls.
Even in IPL 2020, T Natarajan put up some stellar performances with the balls. In just 16 matches, Natarajan picked up 16 wickets for SRH. Moreover, he also bowled the most number of yorkers-71, in IPL 2020.
T20I series against Australia A confidence booster for Natarajan: Harbhajan Singh
In just 2 T20Is, Natarajan has picked up 5 wickets, with an impressive average of 8. Harbhajan believes that this tournament will boost Natarajan’s confidence immensely. Natarajan was brought in instead of Navdeep Saini. Saini did not impress with the bowl in the ODI series. In just 2 matches, Navdeep Saini conceded 153 runs in just 17 overs. What is even worse is that Saini only managed to pick 1 wicket. This eventually led to Natarajan’s selection in the 3rd ODI.
Harbhajan believes that although Natarajan is talented, he still has a long way to go. Because Natarajan has just started his international career, batsmen are yet to fully understand his bowling style. With experience and time, batsmen will assess how Natarajan bowls and adapt accordingly.
It won’t be easy, but Bhajji believes that T Natarajan can make the cut. If he continues working harder and harder, Harbhajan believes that Natarajan can also do wonders for the Indian team. Natarajan also has the backing of former cricketer VVS Laxman, who was his mentor in the SRH squad in IPL 2020. With Bumrah and Shami available as pace options, adding Natarajan to the lineup could prove lethal for the opposing batting lineup.
