Rohit-Sharma-Natarajan

India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma stated that Natarajan understands his bowling and it is something that the Indian cricket really needs. The visitors bundled out Australia for 369 in the first innings. India’s bowlers, Shardul Thakur, T Natarajan and Washington Sundar, picked up three wickets each.

The test debutant Natarajan picked up wickets of Matthew Wade, Marnus Labuschagne and Josh Hazlewood. T Natarajan impressed the selectors in the 13th edition of the IPL and got his maiden international call. He made his international debut in the third ODI match against Australia. The pacer picked up two wickets. He was later included in the T20 squad as well where he successfully claimed six wickets from three games.

Jasprit Bumrah’s injury saw T Natarajan make his Test debut in the fourth test match against Australia. In a virtual press-conference, Rohit Sharma mentioned how well Natarajan understands his game. The opening batsman glorified the pacer for understanding his game and what he needs to do to shift from white-ball to red-ball cricket. The Mumbai Indians skipper believes Team India have discovered a potential star in the Tamil Nadu pacer.

The vice-captain also praised the young all-rounder Washington Sundar for his impressive performance on his Test debut. His final and final test selection raised several questions as he was picked ahead of experienced bowler Kuldeep Yadav.

However, the 21-year-old player justified his selection in the on-going fourth test at Brisbane. The all-rounder picked up three wickets in the first innings. Rohit Sharma further mentioned that the Indian team management has full faith in both Washington Sundar and Natarajan despite their inexperience. The test debutants had played a decent amount of first-class cricket.

Rohit was undoubtedly happy with the maturity that the Indian bowling unit showed to restrict the hosts. It was quite tricky after fast bowler Navdeep Saini walked off the field due to groin pain. The men in blue ended a rain-shortened Day 2 on 62-2. The Rahane-led side is still trailing by 307 runs. Team India lost the young batsman Shubman Gill early. Nathan Lyon also dismissed Rohit Sharma after scoring 44 runs. Rohit’s dismissal was a massive blow for the visitors. India’s two experienced players Cheteshwar Pujara and Ajinkya Rahane are still at the crease.
