Yorkshire had won the toss and opted to bat first at Headingley. The team had posted 180/4 on the board in their allotted 20 overs. While the New Zealand seamer bowled with precision throughout his spell, he took a fantastic hat-trick in the last over.

Defending 20 runs in the last over, Ferguson did not have the best start. He bowled a no-ball in his second delivery. This gave Lancashire three extra runs. To make the situation worse, the free hit went for a four, and pressure was piling up on the right-arm fast bowler. However, Ferguson bounced back and ended the match in the best way possible.
The last three deliveries of the match saw wickets going down as the Lockie Ferguson registered a hat-trick. He dismissed Luke Wells, Luke Wood, and Tom Hartley, helping his team secure a win. Lancashire was quite close to chasing down the target. At one point, the team required 15 runs off 5 balls. That is when Jones smashed a boundary and made it 11 off 4. Then it became 10 off 3. The star seamer finished with figures of 4/24 as Yorkshire won the match by nine runs. Harry Brook received the Player of the Match award. He had scored 91 runs off 50 balls. This win also consolidated Yorkshire’s second spot in the North Group team standings. Yorkshire has won seven games out of 11. They are behind only Nottinghamshire on the points table.
