The International Cricket Council has announced the schedule for the T20 World Cup to be held in Australia this year. The matches will go underway on the 16th of October, and the finals will be played on the 13th of November. India will face Pakistan on the 23rd of October.
A total of 20 teams will participate in the tournament, of which eight are already in the super 12, four in the first round, and the remaining four are yet to qualify for the first round. Australia, England, Afghanistan and New Zealand are in Group 1 of Super 12, while India, Pakistan, Bangladesh and South Africa are in Group 2 of the Super 12.
The first round will go up till the 21st of October to decide the final four teams for the super 12 stages. The super 12 will begin the following day, with Australia and New Zealand taking charge of the opener.
The host nation, Australia, is also the defending champion of the crown.
