The do-or-die match between India and Australia was on the verge of being washed out. But the rain gods gave way to clear skies and the Nagpur crowd's prayers were heard. They eventually got to see a game of cricket and what a game of cricket it was.

After umpires announced that the game would be of eight over each, India finally won a toss and as is the norm, elected to bowl first. With Jasprit Bumrah back in the side, India's bowling had an edge and it troubled Australia from the word get-go. Captain Aaron Finch (31) held the inning from the Aussies gave way from the other end. It was again Mathew Wade who was the top scorer for Australia as he hit 43 in just 20 balls. Australia in the end were able to reach 90/5 in eight overs.

Axar Patel was the pick of the bowlers from India as he took two wickets in two overs. Coming on to chase a decent score, Rohit Sharma took the game by the scruff of the neck and hit 46 runs in just 20 deliveries, In the process he also became the top six-hitter in the world, surpassing Martin Guptil.

Virat Kohli and KL Rahul had an off day and so has Suryakumar Yadav. Hardik Pandya could only make nine and it was India's finisher in chief, Dinesh Karthik again who took the Men in Blues across the finish line with a six and four in two balls. In the end, India won the match by six wickets and kept the series alive. Both teams would now meet in Hyderabad for the series decider on Sunday.
