Bollywood actress Taapsee Pannu has revealed that shooting of the upcoming movie 'Shabaash Mithu' has been completed. The movie is based on the journey of India women’s team skipper Mithali Raj. Raj is one of the icons of the game and has achieved numerous feats in a stellar career that has lasted over two decades.

Mithali Raj is the only women cricketer to have scored more than 20,000 runs in professional cricket. She is also the highest scorer in women’s international cricket and the only woman to score more than 7000 ODI runs. Mithali so far has scored 7391 runs at an average of 51.3. In Tests, she has scored 699 runs at an average of 43.

“8 ki thi jab kisi ne ek Sapna dikhaya tha, ki ek din ayega jab Cricket sirf gentleman’s game nahi hoga. Humaari bhi ek team hogi, ek pehchaan hogi,” Taapsee wrote in Hindi on Instagram, adding that the filming for Shabaash Mithu has been completed.

“Get ready to cheer for the World Cup 2022,” Taapsee further wrote in the caption of her post, and asked everyone to support the ‘Women in Blue’. The movie is likely to be release around March next year.

Meanwhile, 50-over World Cup is set to take place in New Zealand in March-April 2022. The tournament was due to take place in 2021 but was postponed owing to the COVID-19. Mithali would be keen to lead India to the title in what could be his last global event.
