Ambati Rayudu who recently retired from Cricket made a shocking revelation. According to his exclusive interview with TV9 Telugu, Rayudu revealed that the Indian Cricket Board asked him to prepare for World Cup 2019. Ambati Rayudu said on TV9 Telugu, "The Indian Cricket Board officials in 2018 told me to be prepared for the 2019 World Cup".

Talking of India’s performance in the 2019 World Cup, India lost to New Zealand in the semifinals, ending their tournament early for a second consecutive time. After keeping the Kiwis to 239 runs in the first innings, Virat Kohli's team appeared to be advancing to the Grand Finale. The Indians were always going to struggle after their top three batsmen failed to score more than one run each.

Talking of the game, in the rain-shortened final in Ahmedabad, Chennai Super Kings defeated Gujarat Titans to claim their fifth IPL title. Titans set a record with 214 with to Sai Sudharsan's 96. Rain began to fall during the first over of Super Kings' chase, resulting in a delay of more than two hours. Eventually, with a Ravindra Jadeja four off the penultimate ball, Super Kings completed the revised chase of 171 runs off 15 overs.

Speaking after the win, Ambati Rayudu, who was given special attention by CSK players on the occasion of his farewell from the beautiful game, said, "Yes, it's a fairy-tale finish. I couldn't have asked for more. I mean it's unbelievable. Fortunate to have played in really great sides and this is one of the sides. I can smile for the rest of my life.
