The IPL 2020 was host to some of the best bowling talents of this generation. These standout performers have managed to earn the victory for their respective sides. Whereas leg spinners have dominated this format, it was the fast bowlers who stood out as three of them have made into the list.

5. Yuzvendra Chahal

The RCB leg spinner was pivotal to RCB’s qualification in the playoffs. He managed to bag 21 wickets in the season, with an economy of around 7.67. His best bowling display was against Sunrisers Hyderabad, wherein he managed to bag 3 wickets, conceding only 18 runs in the process.

4. Anrich Nortje

South African bowler Anrich Nortje was quick to rise through the ranks in the IPL 2020. He quickly gained limelight by inflicting damage through his pace and movement. Bowling alongside Kagiso Rabada, he ended the campaign on a high with 22 wickets. His best bowling performance was against RCB, where he picked 3 wickets, giving 33 runs in total.

3. Trent Boult

The New Zealand fast bowler acted as a pillar to the bowling side of Mumbai Indians. His unreal pace combined with his full-length deliveries proved too much to handle for batsmen. He finished the IPL season with an impressive 25 wickets in his hand. Fans got a glimpse of how good he is when he picked 4 wickets against CSK, conceding just 18 runs.

2. Jasprit Bumrah

The Indian fast-paced bowler proved how invaluable an asset he is for the Mumbai Indians. With Mumbai Indians winning the IPL for a record 5th time, Jasprit Bumrah was a stepping stone for the team on their way to victory. With his inch-perfect yorkers and pace, he was unplayable at certain moments of the season. He managed to bag a mammoth 27 wickets in the entire season, finishing second only to Kagiso Rabada. Jasprit Bumrah caught fire, when he destroyed DC batsmen, bagging 4 wickets in just 4 overs and conceding only 14 runs.

1. Kagiso Rabada

On top of this list is the 25-year-old South African bowler Kagiso Rabada. Representing the Delhi Capitals, Rabada was instrumental in DC’s smooth sail to the final of IPL 2020. Had it not been for Rabada, it would have been extremely difficult for DC to even qualify for the playoffs. By far the best bowler of this season, Rabada bagged an outstanding 30 wickets this season, making him the Purple Cap winner.
